CabsFirst experience

CabsFirst!

They really believe in the saying ’Customer is God’. First of its kind service in Goa. Travelling in Goa was never so easy before. I simply visited http://www.cabsfirst.com and I could book a cab in seconds.

As soon as I landed in Goa, a cab was waiting for me at the pickup point with a placard. The cab dropped me at my hotel and he was so well behaved which is a rare sight these days with cab drivers.

The service was really good! From now on it is always CabsFirst!

CabsFirst, thank you for your service.

Did you salute today?

Wow…felt great today! After ages, I had a good hectic day (this time not because of office work)

It was 26th of January 2009, my cell phone suddenly started buzzing at 5 am and I was quick to realize that it was the alarm and the message read ‘Wake up, you lazy ass!!!’ I quickly got ready and loaded myself with all the motor biking gear.

On the eve of this day, I and my very good friend had planned to visit his native place the next day; the sole reason, witness the flag hoisting ceremony at his school.

Ashtapur is about 25-30 kms from Pune towards Ahmednagar. Sachin Kotwal alias Sachin Bhosale of my closest friends claims that, he is among the descendants of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. I believe you my friend but, not until you make your second name completely official.

So we set out for a cool ride. Man, mercury kept on dipping and we were literally shivering. Finally, we made it to the ‘New English School’.

All the students were neatly dressed in their uniform and the teachers made sure that they were obeying the orders of the leader on stage. It was 8 am and the school got into some serious business. Time to hoist the flag!!! A respectable elderly person came forward and did the rituals. Every one on the ground was meditating and the point of concentration being the tricolor. The leader on stage then commanded to sing the national anthem and we all got completely engrossed in chanting the hymn; all minds sharing a common thought ‘devotion to our motherland’. While the chanting was in progress, this busy area came to a ‘standstill’. The pedestrians too showed respect and stood as if they were frozen because of the chilling weather.

This was followed by dance performances by few enthusiastic school students and every one cheered with as much enthusiasm and the program came to an end. There was not a single moment where the focus was deviated from the core subject of patriotism.

I would love to hear your experiences, on this day.

Jai Hind!!!

A completely IDIOTic movie

This is addressed to Aamir Khan!!!

Hello Sir,

First, congratulations on the success of 3 Idiots. Needless to mention, the movie is really doing good and entertaining all the people around the world.
Well, I have something to say about this movie. Although I am a die hard fan of you, I still feel like bringing this up.
We (me and my 2 friends, in all 3 idiots) teamed up to watch the movie. The beginning was really catchy but, as the movie progressed there was no content in it. When we hit the intermission it was very nice of Rajkumar to bring in the suspense, so that people like us don’t leave the theatre in the midst of the movie. But that wasn’t enough to keep us folks engaged in the movie.
None of the scenes in the movie was funny or rather we entered the theatre with too much of expectations and the movie didn’t live up to the hype that was created.
Of all the pathetic scenes in the movie the baby delivery scene was real bad. Can somebody in the world explain to me how this scene is ‘watchable’ with family? This is something which is worthy of respect.
Although this movie is doing commercially good compared to all your previous movies, this was of mediocre standards in all aspects (except for songs).
You are God in your field and I am nobody to comment on your acting but your stint in ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ (comedy department) rocked, and Rancho is no where closer to that.
Aamir Khan is the king of Indian Cinema, and nothing can stop us watching his movies!!!
Please excuse me I have hurt you in any ways.

Cheers!!!
Sagar

Have the terrorists been successful in their job?

Yes!!! Its victory for the terrorists in the recent Mumbai blasts (2008). As we approach the end of this year, this incident has overshadowed all the good things those happened throughout the year. One thing is for sure, Deccan Mujahideen (the group that claimed the responsibility of the attack) must be swimming in the pool of champagne after their crew successfully executed the plan.
The terror is so much now in all the parts of India that all the mega events have been either cancelled or have been postponed indefinitely. For instance, the 2 one dayers between India and England were cancelled. A Bollywood programme has been cancelled; the likes of Amitabh Bachchan and many others have withdrawn. The stock exchange of India was closed on Thursday (the day of attack) and it was reported that there was an overall loss of Rs.50000 Crores. Such is the aftermath of the terror. The tremors of this attack have affected all the people across the globe.
The home minister, Mr. Shivraj Patil was forced to resign. The opposition now wants MR. R.R. Patil (Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra) to resign. All the big shot industrialists are criticizing the political system in India.
If all this is not enough to prove to you the success of the terror attacks, then you will never be pushed away from the podium of being a number 1 fool!!!

Bloody Thursday!

What a way to start the day? All the websites were posting updates on the gun battle happening in the financial capital of India.
The news was flashing on all the channels about the several blasts those rocked Mumbai, last night. Although Mumbai is used to such blasts happening over the last couple of years but, this was really gruesome. On one side India was inching towards a one sided victory over the Englishmen and on the other hand terrorists were in the process of emerging victors.
The only difference this time was that the terrorists were looking out for non Indians. This is the time that we should unite against the countries those fuel such heinous activities. All the country officials have expressed their condolences towards the families who have lost their members. But the question still remains unanswered. How do we combat such unlawful events?
There is no way we can zero in on this front. It is nature’s simple rule that equilibrium should be maintained on our lovely planet. The fight between the good and bad has been happening for ages now. The innocent people and their families who fall prey to the natures move should consider themselves unfortunate and move ahead in life.
One thing we all need to accept; express condolences to the families who lost their members and also to the families whose members end up as terrorists.

How to copy data from one table of SQL server 2005 to the other of SQL server 2005?

There was a strange problem where in one had to keep the two SQL tables of SQL server 2005 located on two different machines of in synch with each other. Whenever there is an update in either of the tables the other table should contain the respective information.
One way to achieve this is to use triggers, but they failed in this scenario (where the two tables are located on two different machines)
This is where we thought of using the feature of ‘maintenance plan’ in SQL server 2005. In this one needs to add a task called ‘Execute T-SQL statement task’ and enter the stored procedure or a query. Whenever the data is inserted into table 1, through triggers it is inserted into the temporary table from which the query in the maintenance plan picks up and inserts the same into the other table. A similar maintenance plan needs to be created on the other SQL server 2005 which will insert into table 1. The maintenance plan runs at regular intervals.
The records affected by an insert, update and a delete statement can be obtained from inbuilt tables INSERTED and DELETED.
This approach so far may lead to recursion. In this case one will have to switch the triggers off before inserting data in the table through maintenance plan.

Is this a wake up call?

Every game has its rules and IT (information technology) industry and BPOs (Business Process Outsourcing) have the same. Hefty pay packages bring along with it lots of body problems as bonuses.
Employees in these industries are most of the times always glued to their computers, in the end inviting loads of health problems. The list becomes very long but the most prominent ones are eye irritation and backache.
One can easily get rid of these problems. The eye irritation is basically because of constant MONITORing. One needs to take a break every half an hour; this not only relaxes your eyes but also your back. Also, one needs to make sure that the eyes are washed at least thrice a day.
Backache, looking at the term our head starts aching. There is no other remedy to this problem than regular outs; need to follow a strict regime. To look healthy and to stay fit one needs to hit the gym everyday and make it a habit.
Lets follow this simple mantra for a healthy life!
